SAK Environmental was founded in 2003 by chemist, hydrogeologist, and Licensed Site Professional, Stephen Sakakeeny. Joining the firm in 2007, Maureen Walsh Sakakeeny is a Registered Professional Engineer and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional with 20-years of engineering consulting and program management experience.
Maureen functions as SAK’s Chief Executive Officer, responsible for contract management, quality control, program management, and business/marketing functions. Maureen’s specialization is in managing complex projects with multidisciplinary teams. Her experience includes environmental planning and environmental site assessments, engineering design and construction monitoring management for publicly funded, infrastructure projects.
Stephen functions as the firm’s Chief Technical Officer. He boasts over 20-years of experience in solving environmental problems and providing practical advice and technical solutions to clients in a variety of industries. His knowledge of industrial processes, hazardous material management methods, site development and construction, regulatory policies and environmental risk management ensures real-world solutions based on hands-on experience.
Today, they work together with a team that includes experienced geologists, regulatory experts, and environmental engineers with diverse strengths. SAK Environmental’s team offers a unique blend of talent and expertise to a variety of clients with individual project challenges.
