Maureen Walsh Sakakeeny, PE, LEED AP
Principal
Ms. Sakakeeny has over 20 years experience in civil and environmental engineering consulting and program management, specializing in complex projects with multidisciplinary teams. Her experience includes environmental planning and investigations, engineering design and construction management, and consulting on sustainable development, renewable energy, and brownfields projects. Her technical expertise includes environmental assessments, storm water management plans, geometric and pavement design, development of erosion control and construction sequencing plans, and construction project management. Her skills also include outreach and consensus building on numerous external relations programs and providing bidding assistance and permit compliance programs for municipalities. Ms. Sakakeeny holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Tufts University, a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, and a Certificate in Small Business Entrepreneurship from Boston University. She is a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional.
Stephen A. Sakakeeny, LSP, CPG, CHMM
Principal
Mr. Sakakeeny is an experienced hydrogeologist and chemist with over 20 years experience in performing and managing a variety of environmental assessment and remediation, environmental emergency response, and geothermal well installation projects. As an environmental compliance specialist, he has conducted hundreds of environmental site assessments and investigations; managed complex remediation projects; and performed facility closures and environmental compliance audits at industrial, commercial and government facilities. He is frequently called upon to provide technical peer review and regulatory compliance assessments for complex brownfields assessment and remediation projects. His expertise includes projects at manufacturing facilities, utilities, construction sites, and institutions. Prior to SAK Environmental, Mr. Sakakeeny managed private and government projects for an international environmental engineering firm. Mr. Sakakeeny has a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and geology from Tufts University, and a Master of Science degree in hydrogeology from the University of New Hampshire. He is a Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional (LSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), and Certified Professional Geologist (CPG).
Sherry A. Albert, PE
Senior Environmental Engineer/Risk Assessor
Ms. Albert is a senior environmental (chemical) engineer with 25 years of broad experience in environmental management and risk assessment for the commercial, industrial and public sectors. She possesses a wide range of technical skills and in-depth knowledge of state/federal environmental regulations. Her areas of expertise include human health risk assessment, site investigation/environmental due diligence, Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP), toxics use reduction, remediation and process design, environmental compliance, industrial waste treatment, fate and transport modeling, and technical report preparation. Ms. Albert received her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of Maryland and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Mark P. Grady Jr., EIT
Environmental Engineer
Mr. Grady has 4 years of experience in environmental investigations and compliance projects including field sampling and oversight on emergency spill response. His experience includes conducting ASTM environmental site assessments, responding to spills at industrial sites and preparing documentation for compliance with the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP). He has designed and conducted field sampling programs for permit compliance and has provided technical assistance, construction inspection, and field oversight for drilling and geothermal well installations, hazmat spills and for utility projects. Mr. Grady has a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Master of Science in Engineering from University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He is a Registered Engineering in Training, and OSHA-10 and OSHA 40 HAZWOPER trained.
Stephen J. Dowaliby
Environmental Scientist/Licensed Asbestos Inspector
Mr. Dowaliby has experience conducting field investigation programs, permit compliance inspections, soil and groundwater sampling for ASTM environmental site assessments, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and report preparation, analytical data tabulation and analysis, and emergency response assistance and environmental reports. He is an experienced inspector for MA solid waste compliance programs. Mr. Dowaliby holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Maine in Geosciences, and is working on a Master of Science degree in Environmental Studies from University of Massachusetts Lowell. He is a licensed asbestos inspector and OSHA-10 and OSHA 40 HAZWOPER trained.
Kenneth Marks
Consulting Field Inspector
Mr. Marks is an experienced field inspector with over 15-years of experience in the environmental engineering field. He has experience with US EPA Brownfields, low-flow groundwater sampling, and Superfund sites throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He has been responsible for monitoring well installation and development, O&M on soil vapor extraction and free-product recovery systems, landfill inspections and leachate monitoring, and monitoring of confined spaces. His experience includes overseeing underground storage tank removals (UST); field screening of soil to direct excavation; sample collection of water and soil; overseeing dewatering operations; groundwater sampling low-flow, low stress; indoor air quality surveys with collection of air samples (SUMMA); soil gas monitoring; and other related environmental inspections. Mr. Marks was the sample team lead for AFCEE and EPA groundwater events at the Pease International Tradeport in Portsmouth, NH for over two years, and was responsible for calibrating and maintaining sampling equipment. He is a graduate of the Institute for Environmental Education (IEE) Environmental Technician Hygienist Certificate program and holds multiple OSHA certifications.
Paul A. Murphy, PE
Consulting Air Permitting Specialist
Mr. Murphy is a chemical engineer with over 24 years of experience in air emissions permitting, environmental compliance, and management. He has expertise in developing and managing engineering and environmental regulatory compliance solutions for a variety of industries. Mr. Murphy is famililar with both state and federal air rules and enjoys an amicable working relationship with key state and federal regulators. He has prepared numerous MA air emission permit applications, and federal "new source" and Title V operating permit applications in multiple states. Mr. Murphy is a Registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Dalhousie University (Nova Scotia), and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Technical University of Nova Scotia, and a Masters of Education degree from Harvard University.
Pamela J. Roscoe, CPSM
Marketing & Business Development Manager
Ms. Roscoe is a marketing professional with over 15 years of marketing experience, most of which are in the A/E/C industry. She possesses a wide range of creative and graphic design skills and proposal preparation capabilities, as well as knowledge of the state/federal contracting and the RFP/RFQ process. Ms. Roscoe manages SAK's marketing efforts including proposal preparation, events and exhibits, print and online marketing, and outside vendor and consultant coordination. Ms. Roscoe received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lesley University, is a Certified Professional Services Marketer and a member of the Society of Marketing Professional Services.
Susan Boyle
Administrative Assistant
Ms. Boyle has over 10 years of experience in office administration. She handles accounts payable, marketing mailings, database management and other administrative tasks for the office. Ms. Boyle received her Associates Degree in executive secretarial science from Bunker Hill Community College, and was a former executive assistant to the Mayor of Cambridge, MA and administrative assistant in the Cambridge Fire Prevention Department.
